A Ruger American’s trigger may require a few modifications.

First, you can adjust the weight of the trigger by adding or removing slack from the trigger spring.

Second, you can adjust the sear engagement by adjusting the screws on either side of the trigger.

And finally, you can adjust the over travel of the trigger by adjusting the screw at its base.

The Ruger American is a popular hunting rifle that comes with a number of adjustment features to help shooters customize the firearm to their liking. One such adjustment is the trigger, which can be tweaked to achieve the perfect pull weight for each individual shooter. Here’s how to adjust the trigger on a Ruger American:

  1. Remove the bolt from the rifle by depressing the bolt release button and pulling the bolt rearward.
  2. Look at the back side of the bolt and you’ll see two small screws (see photo).
  3. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen these screws until they are about halfway out of the bolt (do not remove them completely).
  4. Withdraw the bolt from the receiver.
  5. Take a look at the trigger assembly and you’ll see a small spring (see photo).
  6. This is the trigger return spring and it’s what controls the trigger pull weight.
  7. To lighten the trigger pull, simply stretch out this spring a bit.
  8. To make the trigger heavier, compress the spring a bit.
  9. Once you’ve achieved the desired trigger pull weight, reassemble the rifle and test it out.

There are a few things you can do to adjust the trigger on your Ruger American.

First, check the screws that hold the trigger in place and make sure they’re tight.

Also, make sure the striker is properly aligned with the sear and that there’s no debris or gunk preventing it from moving smoothly.

If there’s still some slack in the trigger, you can try bending the connector spring until it’s more rigid.

There are a few things you can do to adjust the trigger on a Ruger American.

One is to adjust the screws on the bottom of the gun.

Another is to use a screwdriver to adjust the sear engagement.

You can also try adding or removing tension from the striker spring. And finally, you can try adjusting the striker itself.

Remove the screws that hold the trigger assembly in place and loosen the tension on the spring. You can also adjust the screw that holds the sear in place. Be careful not to touch the other screws or you could end up causing damage. Good luck!
