⚖️ Choosing the best 9.3x62mm Mauser ammo depends on several factors, including the intended use, shooting distance, and personal preferences. Here are some considerations that can help you choose the best ammo:

1️⃣ Determine the intended use: Different types of ammo are designed for different purposes, so it’s important to know what you will be using it for.
2️⃣ Consider bullet weight and type: Heavier bullets provide more kinetic energy and are better suited for larger games, while lighter bullets are more suitable for smaller games and target shooting.

4️⃣ Check the muzzle velocity: A higher muzzle velocity generally means a flatter trajectory and better long-range accuracy.
5️⃣ Consider the bullet shape: The shape of the bullet can affect accuracy and penetration. Spitzer bullets are typically used for long-range shooting, while round-nose bullets are better suited for hunting.
6️⃣ Take into account your personal preferences: Ultimately, the best ammo for you will depend on your personal preferences and shooting style. It’s a good idea to try out different types of ammo to see which one works best for you.

⚠️ It’s important to note that choosing the right ammo is only one part of the equation. Proper training, technique, and gun maintenance are also essential for safe and effective shooting.

Just want to share my experience with you guys. Yesterday, I recorded the velocities of my range sessions using Hornady ammunition. I used Magneto Speed and got the following readings: 2448, 2437, 2431, 2433, 2452, and 2444. The first two shots were fired without a muzzle brake and were almost touching each other. The other shots were fired with the brake and formed a good group, just 1 inch lower. The first shot landed where I expected it to. I highly recommend this setup.

With its impressive capabilities, the 9.3X62 cartridge is more than capable of handling any hunting needs in North America. It excels in this regard, performing with great ease and confidence.

When it comes to hunting North American games, I prefer using either the 250 or 286 bullets. They are both effective in taking down games quickly and without any unnecessary fuss. Not only are these bullets accurate, but they are also able to shoot MOA groups for me. I have been told that the 270 gr Speer bullets tend to break apart and lose their jackets, particularly when used for hunting moose. Additionally, I have personally found that the Speer bullets are not as precise as the Nosler bullets in my rifle.

In terms of recoil, how does the 9.3×62 cartridge compare to the 7mm Remington Magnum?

I have only used the 286gn Hornady bullet in my 9.3, but I have found that it groups exceptionally well. With either the 250 or 286 bullets, I am confident that any animal I hit will be taken down effectively, as long as I make a good shot.

Although the 270 Speer bullet is accurate, I had a negative experience with it when it came apart in a moose’s neck at 2500fps, similar to a varmint bullet. As a result, I would only recommend using it for the smaller game at modest velocities.
These days, the only bullet I use is the 286 gr Nosler Partition. With its outstanding accuracy and consistent performance, I have had excellent results using it in my 9.3×62 at 2450fps. The bullet provides great penetration and visible expansion from 50 to 280 yards when hunting moose and bears. While I acknowledge that there are other quality bullets on the market, I have no reason to switch from the Nosler Partition as it has served me well when hunting anything from smallish blacktails to brown bears and moose.

When I first started using the 9.3×62 cartridge with the 286 Hawk Precision bullet, I experimented with both Varget and H414 powders. However, after Nosler released their 286PT bullet, I found that using 58 grains of Varget powder really hit the mark for me.
