I’m grateful for this great content. I shoot a .416 REM Mag in my Ruger No1 Rifle, which may not be necessary here in the UK, but it’s still quite fun. My favorite load is 400gr Hornady DSX with 74gr H4895–it works amazingly well and offers precision accuracy (MOA). It’s truly an incredible cartridge! And if you’re looking for something milder, try 350gr Speer with 62gr H4895.
My dad owns a 257 Weatherby which is great for hunting elk and deer from close distances; it’s been an incredibly accurate shooter. He even managed to take down an impressive 400-pound elk with his 416 Rem Mag last year!
i’d prefer to use it while long-range shooting. what do you think about it? can it be used like this?
The 416 Remington Magnum Ammo is an excellent choice for long-range shooting. 👍 The high velocity and precision of the round make it ideal for targeting games or targets at greater distances. With a flat trajectory and impressive muzzle energy, this caliber can be used to make accurate shots on even the most challenging targets.
I’ve heard of a grizzly bear surviving three consecutive shots from 300win mag at over 75 yards, yet the fourth shot with the guide’s 416 had an immediate effect. I’m aware that this is anecdotal and reliant on accurate shooting – however, if it were me in that situation, I’d rather not put my life on the line and shot 416 from the very beginning!
I have a Remington Model 700 chambered for the formidable .416 Remington Magnum caliber. Not once have I experienced an extraction issue! Very accurate, not bad on recoil, and hits like a freight train.
Is this ammo reloadable? thanx
The 416 Remington Magnum Ammo is non-reloadable. ⚠️ This means the ammo must be purchased new and cannot be re-used.
📌 However, some companies do offer reloading services for this cartridge. These services typically involve taking a used round, disassembling it, cleaning it, and then reassembling it with fresh components.
the 416 Remington is by far my favorite cartridge and if I go down to 1 rifle, I will always keep my Winchester m70 416 Rem :)))
Hello! As a younger man, I was infatuated with the 416 calibers and opted for what I saw as the “pretty gun” — my 500/416NE double rifle. While it certainly is gorgeous to look at, it can be difficult to handle due to its size. If only I had chosen sensibility over vanity back then! The more logical choice would have been a 416 Rem Mag Mauser; not only would this have made shooting far easier but also significantly cheaper in hindsight. Live and learn, haha
the same thing, man xD
