How to adjust the trigger on a Winchester Model 70?

For triggers installed after 2005, there is an adjustment screw located behind the trigger. This screw dictates how much travel there is before thetrigger breaks. For example, if you turn the screw all the way in, it will create a zero travel or “hair” trigger. If you back this screw out, it will increase travel and make the trigger heavier. Please be aware that if you decrease travel too much, it could create an unsafe condition where the gun might fire without you meaning for it to do so.
If your Model 70 was manufactured before 2005, then your rifle’s trigger is not adjustable.
