I have been using Ameristep doghouse blinds for quite some time now, and they are the optimal choice when it comes to shooting with a gun or crossbow. However, if you’re looking to use a bow inside of one, you might need to invest in something shorter than usual so that there’s enough room for two people. In addition, I recommend testing out different height seats before purchasing since this will affect how accurately you can aim while sitting inside the window. When shooting/filming, I tend to open the large front window wide and only slightly part the side windows for viewing.
Can you advise about how early to set up the ground blind?
📌 When setting up Ameristep Ground Blinds, it is best to do so several hours before you plan to hunt.
Once the Ameristep Ground Blind has been set up, feel free to leave it alone until hunting time approaches; trying to adjust it multiple times can cause animal disruption and scare away your potential target. However, if heavy winds occur after setup it may be necessary to adjust the Ameristep Ground Blind slightly for optimal performance.
🔎 It is important that the blind be set up in an area that doesn’t draw attention from wildlife by being out of their normal route of travel.
From my experience, it only takes a person to close it. I’ve had mine for 3 years now it takes practice but becomes easy when you know how to do it correctly.
Although I don’t love every aspect of the blind, it does have one feature that truly stands out to me – its corner windows. With those vertical windows in place, I can get a few seasons’ worths of use for such an affordable price and still be satisfied with the result. This is definitely a functional blind if you are hunting or camping in wooded areas!
I’m new to bowhunting from a ground blind and encountered an issue when practicing in the sun. I have a lighted fiber-optic sight, but my pins were still too difficult to see! Is this something you experience as well? If so, do you have any advice for improving visibility during full daylight hours?
That does not seem plausible to me. Have you tested your sight batteries? Even with budget-friendly sights, the rheostat light should make it effortless for you to discern your pins in a dark blind. It could be that the glare from having a sunlit blind rather than one in shade was overwhelming. Furthermore, opening too many windows can also increase glares.
My father is a huge fan of his Ameristep Deluxe chair blind – the original version with magnetic side windows and quieter, softer fabric. I’ve tried it out hunting myself and truly appreciate its design; however, to ensure accuracy, be sure that you bring along a shooting stick instead of attempting to rest your firearm in one of the openings.
Do you think it’d be good for ice fishing?
the two-man would be
Does anyone own an Ameristep Caretaker hub blind? I’m having difficulty comprehending how to assemble it. It seems like the roof hub is about to snap when I try pulling it apart, even after watching many YouTube videos on this topic! Any advice would be much appreciated.
I purchased one of these just a week ago and found that it’s an effortless task to assemble. All you have to do is pull each panel in the middle until it gives a satisfying pop indicating that side has been successfully put together!
When opening the tent, I recommend starting with three walls and then popping up the roof. The fourth wall might feel a little stiffer than the rest, but unless you’re being excessively forceful, it won’t break. To close the tent, do the same process in reverse order: take down one wall, collapse the roof, and then fold up the remaining three walls. Even if you follow these instructions perfectly, you’ll probably still have some difficulty getting everything to fit properly…I always do.
hey, ppl. answer, pls, my question. i’m a novice user and would like to know: can I leave a blind outside for a night?
Yes, Ameristep Ground Blinds can be left outside for a night or two as long as they are not exposed to wet weather or extreme temperatures. They also suggest using ground stakes and guy lines to secure the blind firmly to the ground if leaving it outside for an extended period of time.
💡 Additionally, Ameristep offers an additional rain flap that can be added for additional protection against the elements. This is especially useful if you plan on leaving your ground blind out overnight.
⭕️ However, it is better to store the blinds in a dry place when not in use.
