Why an Ambi Safety Selector is Necessary? 🤔

📌 An ambidextrous selector switch allows you to easily switch the fire control between your dominant and non-dominant hands, allowing you to control your firearm in a more natural, ergonomic way.

📌 It also adds extra safety features that can help prevent accidental discharges. With an Ambi safety selector, you can quickly and easily change the firing options on your weapon—without having to move your hand away from the grip and reach over to the other side of the gun.

📌 This makes it much easier to transition shooting styles when switching hands or changing positions while shooting.

📌 Additionally, having a 45-degree angle selector gives you greater control over how tight or loose you want the selector switch to be. This kind of precision adjustment is not possible with standard 90-degree angle selectors and is crucial for those who want absolute control over their weapons.

📌 A 45-degree ambi safety selector also offers additional levels of protection against accidental discharges by allowing you to configure multiple layers of security into the system. This includes mechanical locks that make it impossible for anyone without the key to release the hammer and trigger, as well as indicators that show whether or not a firearm is loaded for added safety.

📌 Overall, an ambi safety selector provides increased convenience, better accuracy and greater safety than standard 90-degree models—making it a must-have for any serious shooter looking to take their firearms skills up a notch.

Design and construction.

  • 🧷 High-quality models are typically made from durable materials such as stainless steel or aluminium and feature an ergonomic design that allows for easy operation even with gloves on.

  • 🧷 Some selectors come pre-assembled while others require some assembly or require certain tools in order to install them properly.
  • 🧷 Before making a purchase, make sure you understand how exactly it needs to be installed and if any special tools will be needed.
  • 🧷 Most selectors come with specific instructions detailing compatible firearms models but if unsure always double-check with the manufacturer before buying in order to avoid any compatibility issues later on down the line.

Safety features such as guards and safeties built into your 45-Degree Ambi Safety Selector help prevent accidental misfires or other unintentional discharges from occurring when handling your weapon.

  • 🧷These features vary between different models so make sure you understand their differences prior to making a purchase in order to ensure proper safety protocols are met when operating firearms at all times.

How to install a safety selector? 🔥

🎯 First off, you need to make sure that your gun is unloaded. This means that all ammunition should be removed from the chamber as well as any magazines or clips that may contain ammunition.

🎯 Start by making sure that all parts of the safety selector are thoroughly cleaned and lubricated. This will help ensure its smooth functioning after installation.

🎯 Once this step is complete, you’ll need to remove the original safety selector from your rifle before inserting the new one in its place. To do this, simply press down on the original selector lever until it pops out of its groove on the left side of the lower receiver.

🎯 Next, insert the new 45-degree Ambi Safety Selector into its spot on either side of your rifle’s lower receiver. Make sure to use enough pressure when doing so; if not applied correctly, it could result in a malfunctioning safety selector in future use.

🎯 Once inserted securely on both sides of your rifle’s lower receiver, align both levers so they are parallel with each other before tightening them into place using a screwdriver or similar tool.

🎯 Finally, check to make sure that everything is functioning properly by cycling through safe mode and fire mode several times with an empty magazine inserted into your magazine well while ensuring that all rounds remain unloaded.

FAQ 🤔

What are the benefits of using 45-degree safety selector?
There are several benefits of using a safety selector.

🟨 One benefit is that it allows for a more comfortable grip when operating the gun.

🟨 Another benefit is that it provides a more positive and consistent trigger pull.

🟨 Additionally, using a 45-degree safety selector can help to reduce wear on the gun’s internals, as well as improve its overall performance.

What are the different types of 45-degree safety selector?
There are several different types. Some common types include ambidextrous, ergonomic, and extended. Ambidextrous options are ideal for those who want to be able to operate the gun with either hand. Ergonomic options are designed for comfort and ease of use. Extended options offer increased leverage, making it easier to operate safely.
What Is The Difference Between 45 And 60-Degree Safety Selectors?

🟥 The 45-degree ambidextrous safety selector is one of the most popular choices among gun enthusiasts since it allows the user to switch between ‘safe’ and ‘fire’ with ease using either hand. 🟥 This is in contrast to a 60-degree safety selector, which requires two separate levers for each hand.

🟥 The 45-degree safety selector also has several advantages over its 60-degree cousins. For starters, the 45-degree version provides greater leverage when switching between safe and fire modes. This makes it easier to manipulate the selector without having to exert too much force or strain on your wrist or arm.

🟥 Additionally, this design eliminates any potential risk of accidental firing from incorrect operation due to its unambiguous position when moved between safe and fire modes.

🟥 Furthermore, because of its relatively low profile, the 45-degree ambi safety selector can be more easily concealed under clothing for those who are concerned about their privacy when carrying a firearm in public spaces.

What materials are used for producing the 45-Degree Ambi Safety Selector?

Most of them are made from a range of high-grade materials, including steel, aluminium, brass, and polymer.

🟪 Steel is the most common material used for producing these selectors as it offers great strength and durability.

🟪 Aluminum is another popular option due to its lightweight and corrosion-resistance properties.

🟪 Brass is also a good choice for its aesthetic appeal but may be more susceptible to wear over time.

🟪 Lastly, polymer materials offer enhanced corrosion resistance and may help reduce overall weight.

Are there some prohibitions regards the usage of the 45-Degree Ambi Safety Selector?

The use of a 45-Degree Ambi Safety Selector has some restrictions in certain countries, states, and jurisdictions.

⚡ For example, in the United States, the selector is prohibited for use on fully-automatic firearms.

⚡ It must also meet local state laws regarding firearm modifications and their legal status for hunting or other civilian and military applications.

⚡ In addition to the above prohibitions, certain types of 45-Degree Ambi Safety Selectors may be restricted by building code requirements in residential buildings. Depending on the safety selector’s construction material and finishes (for example hard anodized aluminium), they are subject to specific fireproofing regulations.

Is Ambi Safety Selector worth buying?

The answer depends on what you’re looking for in terms of performance and comfort.

🟡 On one hand, these selectors are designed with ergonomics in mind; they ensure that you can easily reach safety while keeping your finger close to the trigger guard.

🟡They also provide a more natural grip when engaging the safety, which can help prevent accidental firing.

🟢 On the other hand, their construction means they are slightly more expensive than standard safety selectors.

🟢They also require specialized installation; adding one will mean disassembling part of your gun and may need professional assistance if you don’t have experience working with firearms parts.

In all honesty, the key factor is practice. Personally, I prefer using the 45-degree angle, but I’m also comfortable with the 90-degree angle. It simply took some time to adjust to the radian 45 when I made the switch. After experimenting with it for about an hour, I became accustomed to it and now it feels natural to me. It’s not a significant issue, in my opinion. I think the more important aspect is having an ambidextrous ability, but that’s just my perspective. Ultimately, I’m just an ordinary individual like everyone else.

Personally, I would opt for the 45-degree angle to avoid any frustration with potential marking inconsistencies.

At present, I have three 45-degree safeties installed in my firearms, which include the Seekins Precision, Damage Industries, and Strike Industries brands. Although I appreciate all three, I find the Seekins safety to be the sharpest and my least preferred option.
Realistically, 45-degree safeties are not essential. However, I plan to equip every non-retro rifle I have with one. Additionally, I prefer ambidextrous safeties on my firearms, and 90-degree ambi safeties can sometimes interfere with my trigger finger.

Greetings! Amazing article! Are there any compatibility issues with 45-degree ambi safety selectors and other parts of an AR15 rifle?

Currently, I’m using the Seekins 60/90-degree ambidextrous safety, which I find satisfactory. However, I would prefer a 45-degree angle if given the option. Regardless, I can’t complain since it was a complimentary addition.

Investing in a high-quality short-throw safety is definitely beneficial. As someone who regularly undergoes firearm training, I find myself frequently utilizing the safety switch. When I raise my rifle, the safety goes off. Conversely, when I lower my rifle, the safety goes on.
