I’m not sure about the horsepower requirement for the press. I don’t remember the horsepower of my own press without checking it. However, is the horsepower really a crucial factor as long as you proceed slowly? I don’t want to damage the press by operating it at high speeds without sufficient power.
The press you need to finish an 80% lower needs to be powerful enough to punch through the aluminium, which means it needs at least 5 tons of force.
