I own three 24-round E-Landers magazines that I typically load up to 20 rounds due to the difficulty of loading them to full capacity. Nevertheless, I have found these magazines to be completely reliable thus far. I only use brass ammunition, so I cannot speak to their reliability when used with Wolf ammo. Nonetheless, I am satisfied with the performance of these magazines and would recommend them to others.
Having been a loyal Magpul user for a long time, I recently decided to switch to GI mags. I had used GI mags in the past during my time in the Army and found them to be quite reliable as long as they were cleaned properly. One of the things that I like about GI mags is that they are slightly slimmer, which makes them easier to fit into mag pouches and they lock in more quickly. While I’ve never had any issues with Magpul mags, I have noticed that they sometimes require a firm slap to insert and can be a bit tighter in GI mag pouches. To compare, I have a Lancer magazine on the way, which I am looking forward to trying out.
I’m curious to hear other people’s thoughts on this topic. While I recognize that Magpul is generally considered the best, I am considering switching to using only GI mags once again. There are pros and cons to both, and perhaps I’m overthinking the decision, but I’d appreciate hearing other people’s experiences and perspectives.
In my experience, ASC magazines have been a reliable option, and they come at a very competitive price point. Overall, I have had positive experiences using them, making them a brand that I would recommend to others.
I have amassed a large collection of Magpul magazines, to the point where I am running out of storage space for them. However, I have never experienced any issues with their performance. Not only are they lightweight, but they are also quite durable, and on top of that, they come at a very reasonable price point. While I acknowledge that other brands could be just as good, I struggle to see how any could be better than Magpul.
While I do appreciate the convenience of having a stockpile of Magpul magazines when it comes to my frontline equipment, I prefer GI-spec aluminum magazines.
Personally, I am a fan of D&H aluminum magazines. Not only are they affordable, but I have also never encountered any problems with them. In my experience, they have consistently performed well, making them a reliable choice for anyone in the market for new magazines.
I would like to voice my opinion that plastic feed lips are superior to metal ones. While plastic may be more prone to breaking, it does not bend like metal does. In contrast, metal feed lips can become bent and lead to malfunctions, even though they may appear to be undamaged to an observer. This type of malfunction can occur at the worst possible moments, making it an undesirable outcome. Therefore, in my view, plastic feed lips are a more reliable option.
Hey, friends. help me, pls, what material of mag is better for hunting applications?
💁 Hunting AR-15 magazines should be constructed with materials that will be durable enough to withstand the elements and rugged terrain that comes with hunting.
✅ Metal magazines are the best choice for these applications, as they are extremely durable and long-lasting.
🛑 However, they may also add unnecessary weight if you plan to carry your rifle from one spot to another in pursuit of the game. 🔔 In such cases, polymer magazines can provide a lighter alternative without sacrificing too much durability.
For the past year, I have been using PMAGs as my magazine of choice. I appreciate the slight weight increase that comes with the durable feed lips, which allow the magazine to continue feeding rounds properly even after being dropped. Additionally, the cost of PMAGs is quite reasonable, which is an added bonus.
I see you, guys, share your experience, I want to. My preferred brands are Lancer and PMAG. However, among those brands, my absolute favorites are the Lancer translucent magazines. I find them to be particularly impressive due to their durable metal feed lips, which eliminate concerns about cracking. Additionally, the ability to see through the magazine to determine the number of rounds loaded is a nice feature.
I’d like to buy a metal mag because of many recommendations from my colleagues, but I wonder whether its weight influences accuracy.
⚡️ The weight of AR-15 magazines can affect accuracy, but the degree to which it affects your shooting depends on individual preference and technique.
📌 Generally speaking, heavier AR-15 magazines offer greater stability, as they are less prone to wobbling or moving when you’re aiming. This can help with accuracy by providing a more stable platform for aiming your shots.
📌 On the other hand, lighter magazines allow you to move quickly while still retaining accuracy. The tradeoff is that they are not as sturdy as heavier magazines and may be more susceptible to movement when firing in rapid succession or from awkward positions.
🔔 Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide what type of magazine works best for you based on your shooting preferences and technique.
The two magazine brands that I have personal experience with are Lancers and PMAG Gen 3, and of the two, Lancers are my favorite. While I recognize that there may be other quality options on the market, I have not had the opportunity to try them out. However, I have always had positive experiences with both Lancers and PMAG Gen 3, and have not encountered any issues with either brand.
