🫧How to polish the trigger?🫧

Polishing the trigger is an important step for ensuring optimal performance.

🚩To do so, you’ll need a polishing compound specifically designed for firearms.

  • 🔷 Start by putting a small amount of the polishing compound on a clean cloth and then rub it into the surfaces of the trigger.
  • 🔷 Use a circular motion to evenly distribute the compound.
  • 🔷 Make sure to apply pressure with your fingers as you go – this will help remove any dirt or gunk that’s built up inside the mechanism.
  • 🔷 Once you’ve finished polishing, use compressed air to blow away any excess debris and then wipe off any remaining residue with a clean cloth.

🤠👍 For best results, repeat this process every few months to ensure your trigger kit is running smoothly and safely.

How to install it? 🛠️

Installing a trigger kit is a relatively straightforward process, but it can be tricky for those who are not familiar with gunsmithing. Additionally, make sure you have all the necessary tools on hand before beginning.

  • ➡️ The first step in installing is to remove any existing components from the trigger area of the gun. This includes removing any existing springs and slide assemblies that may be attached.
  • ➡️ Once these components have been removed, use compressed air or a brush to clean out debris and dirt from inside the trigger area of your firearm.
  • ➡️ Next, place the new trigger housing into position on your gun and secure it using the provided hex screws.
  • ➡️ Once this is done, begin installing each component of the trigger kit according to their specific instructions.
  • ➡️ Finally, test it for proper functionality before reassembling everything again and closing up your firearm.

🚨 Ensure that all parts are tightly secured and that no loose pieces or components are rattling around inside.

FAQ 😎

Are trigger upgrades worth it?

😉 Yes, a properly-executed upgrade to a trigger kit should make your firearm more accurate and help you shoot faster.

💠 You’ll also have smoother cycling with a lighter pull.

🔰 But before you decide to purchase one, do some research to ensure that the kit has everything you need for a successful installation.

What is the best trigger pull weight for concealed carry?

✴️ When choosing a trigger pull weight for concealed carry, it is important to consider the safety of yourself and those around you.

☑️ A lighter trigger will reduce the amount of effort required to fire the gun and increase accuracy; however, it can also be more prone to accidental discharge if not handled properly.

📌 It is recommended that concealed carriers choose a trigger pull weight between 4-5 lbs. This provides enough resistance to help prevent unintentional discharges while providing enough sensitivity for quick target acquisition.

Can a trigger affect accuracy?

🤓 To put it simply, yes, your trigger pull and reset can influence accuracy.

➡️ A good trigger kit should help to improve accuracy by reducing grittiness in the pull, smoothing out the break, and shortening the reset time.

➡️ While improved accuracy may not be immediately noticeable with a stock trigger, many experienced shooters find that aftermarket triggers significantly improve their performance in terms of speed and accuracy.

What is the maximum trigger depth?

🔷 One of the most important things to consider when buying a trigger kit is the maximum trigger depth.

  • ⚡ If you’re looking for a kit that will give you greater accuracy and precision, then it’s essential to choose one with a deeper trigger pull.
  • ⚡ The deeper the trigger pull, the more consistent your shots will be, which is especially helpful if you participate in competitive target shooting or hunting.

🔥 Trigger kits typically have a maximum trigger depth of 4-5 lbs., although some models may go as high as 6 lbs.

What are the errors in trigger control?

🤔 Shooters need to be aware of these errors to optimize their accuracy and performance. Common trigger control errors include:

  • 🟣 Anticipation – This occurs when a shooter pulls the trigger before they have achieved proper sight alignment and sight picture.
  • 🟣 Jerking – When a shooter applies too much pressure on the trigger, causing them to jerk or pull it back sharply, which can negatively impact accuracy.
  • 🟣 Slapping – This occurs when a shooter does not slowly apply even pressure on the trigger; instead, they slap at it with less-than-ideal results for their target shots.
  • 🟣 Heeling – A shooter will sometimes pull the trigger with their hand at an angle, causing muzzle rise.

🤠 These errors can be mitigated by investing in a quality XD trigger kit. It comes equipped with adjustable over-travel and pre-travel stops, which allow shooters to adjust the length of travel on the trigger and reduce the likelihood of any of these control errors occurring.

Conclusion 😊

XD trigger kits are a great way to improve the overall function and performance of your firearm. There are many different kits on the market, so it can be difficult to determine which one is best for you. In this article, we have reviewed some of the most popular trigger kits and provided helpful tips on how to choose the right one for your needs. We hope that this information will help you make an informed decision about which of them is best for you. 😎❤️‍🔥

I have heard some intriguing information about the PRP (Powder River Precision) trigger kits designed for the Springfield XD/XDM handgun series. Allegedly, they can reduce trigger pull to around 3.5-4.5 pounds and significantly improve the crispness of the trigger compared to the factory stock option. Despite being content with how my XD/XDM firearms operate, the trigger is an area that I would like to improve. If this product can address this issue, I would be willing to invest both my money and time into installing it. I am curious if anyone has any personal experience using these trigger kits and could provide feedback on their effectiveness.

In my experience, the PRP Ultimate Ultimate Match Trigger Kit for my XDM 10mm has done an excellent job of reducing trigger pull and improving reset. The trigger bump on the back of the trigger was something that I wanted to address, and I was pleased with the limited over-travel after some adjustments. While I’ve heard about the potential benefits of a new year, I didn’t see it as necessary for what I wanted. From what I’ve read, most people who have tried both the factory and PRP sear can’t tell the difference. I have also installed the Springer Precision Kit, which is okay, but I prefer the PRP trigger.

It’s difficult to determine how difficult a task is for someone else without knowing their experience level, mechanical aptitude, and tool availability. While I am not a gunsmith, I have some mechanical knowledge, and I enjoy working on things. I have installed three different PRP kits on my XD-S, XDM 3.8, and XDM 5.25, and I don’t remember running into any issues during the installation process. For any new firearm, I usually fire between 200 to 1000 rounds before making any changes to see if any issues require sending it back to the factory. This also allows time for wear patterns to develop and helps me decide where I might need to polish the action to smooth things out.

I just placed an order for a PRP XDM Models Trigger Kit, and I’m excited to see how well it performs and how easy it is to install. I also ordered a punch set to go with it, which I hope will make the installation process smoother. If everything goes well, I plan to order another trigger for my XDm 9mm.

As a relatively new XD 9mm owner, I’ve been having some trouble with the trigger. I also own a used 3.25 XDe, and I find that I much prefer its trigger. I’m wondering if other XD owners have also experienced difficulty with their triggers. So far, I’ve only fired around 500 rounds through my XD, but I’m consistently missing four inches down and to the right. I’m working on improving my aim, but I’m still missing quite badly from ten to fifteen yards.

In my experience, there’s a lot of personal preference when it comes to triggers. I’ve noticed that hitting low and to the left is a common issue for right-handed shooters. However, since I’m left-handed, I sometimes hit low and to the right. In those cases, I try to slow down and focus on my grip and trigger press until I can correct the issue. I think that some guns just don’t fit well in certain hands, and that can also contribute to accuracy problems.

I own an XD9 and found the trigger that came from the factory to be pretty useless. It had way too much travel and was too heavy for my liking. However, I decided to replace the trigger system with the PRP XD/XDM Drop-In Trigger Kit, which includes their famous striker safety lever that removes the long trigger pre-travel. This upgrade was relatively inexpensive and has made a significant difference in the performance of my XD9. The new trigger system replaces much of the old one and was also easy to install – it only took me about 25 minutes.

Do any of you have a PRP trigger kit installed in your XD? I’m considering either this or Springer Precision, but I think I’m leaning toward the PRP. I just wanted to see if anyone who has installed it has any feedback to share.

I purchased an upgraded PRP First Generation Trigger Kit for my XD-S and it has made a huge difference. The new trigger is much easier to take up, and break, and has less overtravel and reset. I estimate that it has reduced the trigger pull to around 5-6 lbs. Let’s face it, the stock XD-S trigger isn’t great, so the upgrade was worth it.
